Every athlete who competes at a Five Rings Combat Sports LLC ("FRCS") event must accept this waiver. Athletes under 18 need a parent or guardian to accept it for them. A signed copy may also be required at check-in.

Assumption of risk
I understand that submission grappling is a physical contact sport. Takedowns, throws, pins and submissions carry a risk of injury, including sprains, dislocations, broken bones, concussion and, in rare cases, serious or permanent injury. All submissions are legal under FRCS rules. I accept these risks voluntarily.
Fitness to compete
I confirm that I am physically fit to compete, that I have trained for this kind of competition and that I have no medical condition that makes it unsafe for me to compete. I will tell the FRCS staff about any injury before my match.
Following the rules and officials
I have read the FRCS rules and will follow them and the instructions of the referee and event staff. I understand it is my responsibility to tap or submit before an injury happens, and that officials may stop a match to protect my safety.
Release
To the extent the law allows, I release Five Rings Combat Sports LLC, its owners, officials, staff, venue partners and sponsors from claims related to injury or loss from my participation, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Medical treatment
I allow event medical staff to give me first aid and to arrange emergency treatment if needed. I am responsible for my own medical costs.
Photos and video
I agree that FRCS may photograph, film and stream my matches and use my name, likeness and results in event coverage and promotion.
Refund policy
- Athlete withdrawals: contact us as soon as possible. Refund requests made before the card is finalized are reviewed case by case.
- Missed weight or no-show: entry fees are not refunded.
- Opponent withdraws: FRCS will try to find a replacement opponent. If no match can be made, your entry fee is refunded or moved to a future event.
- Event cancelled by FRCS: entry fees are refunded in full, or moved to the rescheduled event at your choice.
